Editing Services
LifeVest Publishing, Inc. works with several talented editors and manuscript reviewers. The editors, however, are not employed by LifeVest Publishing, Inc., but provide their services on a contract basis directly to the author. If you need an editor, please call and tell us about your book, so we may recommend an editor specializing in the genre of your book.Two basic forms of editing are provided:mechanical and grammatical.
Mechanical Editing
Proper punctuation, spelling, and text flow.
Grammar Editing
Based on basic rules of English using the Chicago Manual of Style by the University of Illinois and The Elements of Style by Strunk and White. This includes proper word usage: e.g. sail, sale, sell, or they're, their, there, etc.
Editing service is provided at the rate of $0.015 per word (one and a half cents per word) with a minimum fee of $50.00.
Independent Illustrators
A crucial part of creating quality literature is illustrating a book; using artwork to help tell the story. The best example of this is children's literature. It is also the most important when it comes to the marketability of your book. Quality photos and illustrations can make all the difference in your book's appeal.
LifeVest Publishing has access to several talented artists. Experience levels range from amateur to professional, from art students and teachers to well-known illustrators. Each of the illustrators are freelance artists who independently contract each project. LifeVest will connect you with an artist and then take an administrative role during the illustration process. You will work directly with the illustrator to ensure your artwork meets your specifications. All fees for illustrating will be paid directly to the illustrator, or as agreed upon at the time of your decision to select a particular artist.
